How YourPetPass uses AI
AI can save you time organizing records and preparing for a trip. It can also make mistakes. YourPetPass is designed to keep the source and review status visible so you can make the final call.
AI document scanning
When you use AI Document Scan, YourPetPass analyzes the document you provide and attempts to extract useful details such as vaccine information and dates. The app presents extracted information for review so you can catch mistakes or duplicates.
AI extraction does not replace the original veterinary record. Keep the original document when it may be required by a veterinarian, government agency, airline, boarding facility, or other authority.
AI travel planning
YourPetPass can research a route and create an AI-assisted checklist. Travel rules can change quickly, and a rule may depend on details that are not captured in a general checklist. Treat the checklist as planning assistance and use its source links to confirm what applies to your pet and trip.
Researched is not the same as verified
A source can be newly researched by AI without having been reviewed by a person. YourPetPass distinguishes those states. A source should only be described as human verified after a human review has actually occurred.
If a checklist item has no official source, has a source-type mismatch, is expired, has changed, or is still pending review, the app can flag that condition rather than presenting it as settled.
What AI does not do
- It does not diagnose, treat, or provide veterinary care.
- It does not issue health certificates, import permits, government approvals, or airline approvals.
- It does not guarantee that a source is complete, current, or applicable to every circumstance.
- It does not guarantee boarding, entry, quarantine release, or acceptance of any document.
Your role
Before acting on health information, compare AI-extracted details with the original record and contact your veterinarian when professional medical guidance is needed. Before travel, open the cited official sources and confirm current requirements with the responsible government authority and, separately, your carrier when carrier-specific rules apply.
